This is among the four (4) key strategic pillars of the College aimed at developing and promoting the insurance profession in Uganda. It’s charged with the role of promoting, retaining and enhancing professional growth among the membership. The College is the recognized membership professional body in Uganda and has a membership of over 2456 individual members and 129 corporate members.
Membership Categories:
The College has several categories of membership which range from corporate to individual. The Corporate category is open to all firms, associations, companies, societies and other organizations engaged in transacting insurance business in Uganda. It is also reserved for all corporate and other Institutions whom by virtue of their work are involved in insurance professional matters either as players, associations etc
Corporate Membership
The Corporate category is open to all firms, associations, companies, societies and other organizations engaged in transacting insurance business in Uganda. It is also reserved for all corporate and other Institutions whom by virtue of their work are involved in insurance professional matters either as players, associations, etc.
This is the highest professional qualification awarded to persons upon:
Completion of a senior Associate before enrolling on the fellowship programme.
Have been employed (or self- employed) in the insurance industry for at least 7 years post qualification;
Attended Continuous Professional Development Courses.
Contributed to the pool of knowledge through training, research, publications or mentorship.
This is a post qualification status awarded to persons who;
• Have completed an Advanced Diploma Level qualification in insurance.
• Have at least 2 years proven experience in insurance.
• A letter of recommendation from the employer or a fellow.
• Attended Continuous Professional Development Courses.
This is awarded to qualified members who have completed a Diploma level qualification of IIU
or any internationally recognized Insurance Institute.
This is awarded to qualified members who have completed a Diploma level qualification of IIU or any internationally recognized Insurance Institute.
This is awarded to qualified members who have completed applicable modules of the Certificate in Insurance of IIU or any internationally recognized Insurance Institute.

Benefits to ITC Members
Professional status
ITC members benefit from the College’s status and professional standing. The ICT professional membership category caters for all the persons that have been certified as Insurance Professional Members upon successful completion of their professional programmes. The professional members such as Fellow (FITC), Chartered (CH ITC), Senior Associate (Snr Assc ITC), Associate (AITC) and Certificate (Cert. ITC) is entitled to use the relevant Designations after his/her name. These titles signify a highly rated, competent, and professional
ITC Certified Members will always stand out of the ordinary practitioners given the fact that the certification elevates their positions in the industry and is a demonstration of the fact that they have achieved more than their peers etc.
Discounted rates on ITC trainings and other membership engagements
The College offers discounted rates on short skills courses and other social and networking events to its members. All College members enjoy a discounted rate ranging from 10 %-25% on the specialized trainings organized by the College. The College further offers highly subsidized rates to members attending all social and networking events organized by the College and its partners.
Publications & Journals /Newsletters
The College distributes to its membership periodic publications (journals and newsletters) by the College and other partner institutions. This is done in a bid to disseminate information about the developments within the industry and to enhance public awareness. These keep members up-to-date on industry issues, trends, and events.
The College also periodically shares information with members through the members via the centralized database and on members’ personal e- page.
Social and Networking forums
The College regularly organizes social events for its members. These include sports galas, dinners conferences among other professional forums. Such gatherings offer a lot of networking opportunities, thereby widening the capacity and prosperity of members. Members are eligible to participate in these events at either discounted rates or at no charge at all.
ITC Annual International Conference
The College annually runs an international conference, the conference attracts participation from key players and speakers across the world. The Conference focuses of topical issues and dissemination of industry research findings among others. All members of the College enjoy 20% discount on the entry fees.
Our members who also wish to attend insurance international conferences organized by our partners also enjoy the same discounts by virtue of their membership to the College.
