INSURANCE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PRIMARY, AND SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULA

On 13th July 2022, ITC, and the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) signed an MoU which will see insurance content included in primary, and secondary curricula in Uganda.

Many of our youngsters have not been exposed to insurance at an early age which has affected their attitude towards insurance when they grow up. Efforts have been made by ITC to interest University students to embrace insurance by establishing insurance clubs and supporting universities to develop relevant insurance programmes.

As one of our key roles, the college is dedicated to training as many individuals and preparing them for the industry and creating value for insurance customers. However, we have taken it a notch higher to advocate for the inclusion of insurance training in the Uganda education system. We believe that this will produce passionate professionals who have been nurtured at an early stage.

It will also boost the increase in insurance appreciation and foster innovation in the sector. ITC would also want to help the younger generation realize the opportunities in insurance as a business and career option early.

We are grateful to the NCDC team for all the support rendered to get to this milestone for the industry.
