ITC, Clarkson Insurance Brokers close inaugural training partnershipAnnet Katusiime
The Insurance Training College (ITC), Uganda’s professional insurance training institution and Clarkson insurance Brokers (CIB), the leading insurance broker in the market celebrated the end of their inaugural training partnership following the climax of the four insurance industry trainings under their Memorandum of Understanding.
The inaugural training partnership was climaxed by the Virtual Public Webinar on political violence and terrorism insurance that was held on January 12th 2021. The webinar that was themed, ‘Relevance of Political Violence and Terrorism Insurance to Businesses and Organizations’ attracted players and participants from the local and international business community calibrating on the role of insurance.
Additionally, the webinar was held days to Uganda’s 2021 general elections, thus adding on the wave of trainings to manage expectations on the side of the business community.
On October 6th, 2020, ITC and CIB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote professionalism and professional standards in Uganda’s insurance industry through conducting four Industry-Specific Training Programs. This marked the beginning of the four-month long partnership that saw insurance players in the country enjoy sector-led training at 50percent subsidized training fees.
The training partnership programme serves clearly with ITC’s mandate of enhancing professionalism in the financial services sector as well as CIB’s proven track record as one of fastest growing Insurance Brokerage services providers with expertise in Life, Agricultural, Motor, Travel, GPA, Marine, Industrial, Medical, Property and other customer-tailored insurance policies.
Under this partnership, ITC delivered the Digital Marketing training, Actuarial Valuations Training, Marine Insurance training and sealed off with the Political Violence and Terrorism insurance webinar.
“Our partnership with ITC has achieved great success over the training period, particularly in terms of relevant and timely training to the insurance industry,” said CIB General Manager, Alex Makata.

ITC’s Chief Executive Officer and Principal, Saul Sseremba noted that the impact of the partnership goes beyond the insurance industry to lifting the larger financial services sector.
