Yunusu Kakungulu

Yunusu Kakungulu is a full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), a commonwealth professional fellow, University of Salford, United Kingdom.

He possesses a Master of Business Administration (MBA -Finance option) from Mountains of the Moon University (MMU), Fort-Portal and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting option) from Makerere University, Kampala.

Yunusu has attended several Continuous Professional Development  Programmes under the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Howest University of Applied Sciences, Belgium under the MMU-VLIR-IUC programme and ICPAU.

Yunusu has also presented papers at ICPAU seminars particularly on Financial Management in Education Institutions.

Yunusu has worked as an as an Account Developer with Century Bottling Company (April 2003-July 2008) he later Joined MMU as a teaching assistant in August 2008, rose to the position of lecturer in 2010 before crossing to the Finance Department in the same Institution as Assistant Registrar Finance in 2011. He was later appointed to the position of Registrar Finance (Head of Finance), MMU in February 2012, the position he held up to April 2018. While at the University he served on various committees that enabled the University achieve Charter status.

In May 2018, Yunusu joined Mountain Harvest, an investment arm of Lutheran World Relief as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for a period of 22 months, until February 2020.

In March 2020, Yunusu joined the Insurance Training College (ITC) as the Head of Finance, the position he holds up to today.

Yunusu has vast experience in strategic management, training, personnel administration, accounting, taxation, financial management and reporting.
