To deliver highly competent human capital for the insurance industry in Uganda, ITC conducts a series of activities, including the Insurance quiz. This year, the quiz was conducted in Mbale City to attract participants from Jinja, Iganga, Mbale, and surrounding areas.
Team Prudential, CIC Insurance, Jubilee, ICEA, and Makerere Business School (MUBS)—Mbale campus competed to take the regional crown. Except for MUBS, which had students, the teams were comprised of practicing insurance agents.
After four rigorous rounds, ICEA Lion emerged as the winner, while Prudential and Jubilee came second and third, respectively. The top winners received cash prizes, branded goodies, and recognition for participating in this fun and educational activity.
Saul Sseremba, the CEO of ITC, expressed deep gratitude to the participants and challenged insurance agents to keep learning to stay ahead of trends. He was particularly pleased with the MUBS students, who put up a good fight to match up with practicing insurance professionals.
Faith Kadondi, the chief guest and acting chief of the MUBS Mbale campus, was present to witness her students’ outstanding performance and to applaud them. To the insurance professionals, Faith emphasized the value of professionalism to achieve sustainable success.
ITC is committed to promoting insurance knowledge and professionalism through various membership initiatives, which are critical in increasing trust. As usual, the membership team headed by Paul Katabalwa was eager to gather feedback from the members in the eastern region. The feedback gathered is important for planning purposes.
“We are grateful to our partners IRA, UIA, IBAU, and UIAA, who accepted our invitation to participate in the activities leading to the insurance quiz – especially the radio appearances,” said Paul. Look out for the next ITC insurance quiz happening in a region near you, he added.
