Can I get a replacement of my academic document if I lost the original ones?
Yes, you can. You will be required to obtain a police letter and pay the prescribed fees for replacement of academic documents.
Can I get an exemptions on the program I have been admitted to?
The College has a policy on course exemptions which guides the student on the process of seeking exemptions. Exemptions can only be granted for students on the certificate in insurance & Diploma in insurance programmes.
Can I re-sit an exam of the course unit I passed with the intention of improving my grades?
No, you cannot. The examinations policy does not allow for improvement of marks once a student has already sat and passed a course unit.
Does the college have online exams?
Yes. The College has online exams for course units on the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programme. Exams for the Certificate in Insurance & Diploma Programmes are in written format.
How do I apply for a programme at ITC?

How many course units are taught in different programmes offered at ITC?

Certificate of Proficiency (COP) – 2 papers; 1 compulsory course unit & 1 core course unit

Certificate in Insurance (CIU) – 5 papers; 1 compulsory course unit, 3 core course units & 1 complementary course unit

Diploma in Insurance (DIU) – 9 course units; 3 compulsory course units, 3 core insurance course units, 1 complementary course unit & 2 course units from an area of specialization
What do i get after passing my exams & completing the programme?

You will be issued a provisional results slip immediately after the results have been released, and a certificate & results slip about a month later. Your name will also be presented at the College’s next graduation ceremony.
What happens if i fail an exam?
-
A student who fails a course unit shall be given a chance to register and re- sit the course. He or she shall re-sit the continuous assessment test as well.
What happens if i got admitted at the college but do not report for studies?
-
A student has up to 2 weeks from the first day of class to send a written notification to the Academic Registrar’s office of their intention to withdraw from a programme. Otherwise, where this notification is not sent, the student remains with an outstanding debt with the College and will not continue with their studies unless this is cleared.
What happens if I miss exams during my intake?

If a student misses their exams, they are required to immediately notify the Academic Registrar’s office of this incident. The student will be given an opportunity to sit the missed exam with another group doing similar course units, but at a prescribed fee as set by the College.
What happens when i do not agree with the scores of my final exams?

The College has a Remark Policy which allows for a student to apply for a remark within 14 days from the date of release of results. The student shall be required to pay a fee for this remark exercise.
What should I pay the intakes tuitions and yet i studied but did not do exams?

Once a student is admitted to study and does not withdraw from the programme within the first 2 weeks of study, they are expected to attend class and sit the exams at the end of the intake. A student who has studied takes away the services offered by the College and is therefore required to pay for the consumed services regardless of whether they sit the exams or not.
Does my membership at ITC qualify me to CII membership?
No, the dual members will be required to fill an application form and pay an additional fee prescribed for their respective professional levels. However, if one pays to either of the institutions .i.e. CII or ITC, they will not be required to pay to the other.
Does the college have a code of conduct?
Yes the College has a Code of Conduct and each member of the College is expected to abide by this code.
How do I upgrade my employment levels?
A member/candidate who wishes to upgrade their membership shall be required to fill the membership professional recognition form and attach the relevant certificates. The vetting Committee shall then review the candidates for consideration
If I need additional Information about all the services, where do I get?
Additional information can be picked from the relevant literature on each of the subjects from the downloads section of the ITC website.
If my employer is a fully subscribed member of the college, is it necessary for an individual to also subscribe?
ITC has distinct membership classifications, Corporate membership which is for societal and associations and Individual Membership is which is for persons. So yes even if the Corporate Member paid, an individual is required to subscribe in their respective categories.
If my membership lapses and I wish to reinstate it, what is the procedure?

This is applicable to individuals and or companies who/ which previously held membership to the College whose membership was either terminated or lapsed and was not renewed over time. These can be reinstated by filing a Membership Reinstatement Form.
Is the CPD requirement mandatory?

The mandatory requirement applies only to persons holding selected positions and or qualifications which include;-

CEOs, MDs and COOs, Operation Managers & General Managers.

Claims Managers.

Underwriting managers.
-
Marketing managers/ Business Development Managers & Agency Managers.

Bancassurance Principal Officers & Specified Persons.

All members holding ITC designations i.e. Certificate, Associate, Senior Associates, Chartered, and Fellows.

The above persons will therefore be required to be members of ITC
Of what benefit is the Dual membership?

Dual members will have a privilege to enjoy all benefits and services that are offered to members by both ITC and CII. Additionally, they will also enjoy special benefits such as the use of joint designations, access to the gala dinner event, eligibility to enter into the public trust awards and the exchange programme.
What are the obligations of a member regarding CPDs?

All members of ITC are required to oblige to the CPD requirement by attending and meeting the CPD annual points.
What are unstructured CPD?

Unstructured CPD is any activity an individual considers to have met a learning outcome, but which may not have been specifically designed to meet their development needs. To qualify under unstructured CPD, the CPD activity must address an individual's personal development needs. Examples of unstructured CPDs include;

Industry Committee Participation.

Mentorship.

Writing articles for Publications.

Attending accredited industry social networking activities.
How much CPD points does a member require?

A member of ITC is expected to accumulate a minimum of 30 CPD points annually. Out of the 30 points, 20 points shall be accumulated from structured CPD programmes while 10 points can be accumulated from unstructured CPD. A member may however choose to attain all his/ her points from only structured CPD programmes.
What is CPD?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. CPD is the means by which ITC ensures that its members improve, maintain and broaden their professional knowledge, skills and values, ethics, and attitudes throughout their professional lives.
What is my membership anniversary?

ITC membership runs a for a calendar year that is from January to December of every year

What is the procedure on renewal of membership?

Membership renewal for both Corporate and Individual members shall be due at the beginning of each calendar year and can be completed by payment of the prescribed fees.
