Every year in June, the Insurance Training College (ITC) together with partners, organise the Insurance Industry sports gala with various games and sports including soccer, netball, volleyball, athletics, sac race, and others. 

This year, the event hosted at the Kampala International School of Uganda sports grounds in Bukoto attracted over 2,200 individuals, 43 competing teams, and 3 overall winners under the theme “Insure Your Victory.” The gala is an initiative meant to unite professionals in the insurance sector through sports, and an opportunity to interact outside the office environment. 

Uganda’s Association of Engineering Valuers Loss Assessors (UAEVLA) emerged as the overall winners of the gala, while A+ Group came 2nd, and Prudential Insurance took 3rd place. 

During the awarding ceremony, Saul Sseremba the CEO ITC expressed his gratitude towards the members who have demonstrated their commitment to the gala over the years. He was delighted that the event was fulfilling its intended objective of fostering togetherness among industry professionals. 
In his remarks, Saul also noted the improvement by the college which moved up 10 places to make 15th place in all competitions. 

The guest of honour and CEO IRA, Alhaj Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega urged insurance professionals to work together for the growth of the insurance industry. “Sports is like the competition in your companies, no matter how stiff the competition is, it is not a do-or-die” he said.
