Shining A Light for Community Safety

In a heart warming display of corporate social responsibility, the Insurance Training College (ITC) has successfully implemented a solar-powered lighting project in the Old Kira Road zone, Kamwokya, aimed at reducing crime and improving the overall safety of the community.
Earlier this year, the college identified the pressing need to address the issue of theft and harm caused by unknown youth taking advantage of dark spots in the area. In response, ITC installed 13 solar streetlights in the identified hotspots, providing much-needed illumination and reassurance to residents.

On a recent visit to the community, the ITC CEO, Saul Sseremba received firsthand feedback from residents, who expressed their gratitude for the initiative. "By lighting up the streets, we're not only reducing crime rates but also empowering our neighbours to live, work, and thrive in this community," Sseremba remarked.

This project underscores ITC's commitment to fostering a secure and supportive environment that extends beyond its campus. By investing in community development, the college demonstrates its dedication to advancing education, professional growth, and social well-being.

The solar-powered lighting project serves as a beacon of hope for the community, symbolizing the power of collaboration and collective responsibility. The successful implementation of this project marks a new chapter in ITC's commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of Ugandans.
