In a heartfelt demonstration of solidarity and community spirit, the Insurance Training College (ITC) reached out to residents along Old Kira Road in Bukoto, delivering essential hampers to support the local community during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative, held on Wednesday, 18th March 2026, saw a delegation from the institution’s top management visit the local mosque to hand over the provisions. The gesture was designed to ease the burden on families observing the fast, reflecting the college’s commitment to the neighbourhood it calls home.

Leading the delegation was the Deputy Principal, Sylvia Kajubi, accompanied by the Academic Registrar, Ibrahim Sulaiman; the Head of Membership and Compliance, Paul Katabalwa; the Manager of IT, Shamiru Kwesiga; and the Senior Marketing Officer, Benon Sengendo.

Speaking at the mosque, Sylvia emphasised that the donation was less about food and more about fostering unity.

“At ITC, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond producing skilled insurance professionals. This community has been a steadfast partner to us, and during this sacred time of Ramadan, it was only right that we show up for them in a meaningful way. These hampers are a small token of our appreciation and our shared humanity,” Sylvia said.

The Academic Registrar, Mr. Sulaiman, echoed her sentiments, highlighting the institution’s dedication to social responsibility.

“Ramadan is a time of reflection, compassion, and giving. By supporting our neighbours in Bukoto, we are living out the values we teach; that success is measured by the impact we have on the lives of others,” he noted.

The gesture was met with deep appreciation from the mosque leadership. The Imam, Sheikh Abdul Karim, expressed gratitude on behalf of the worshippers and the wider community.

“We are truly humbled by this generous gesture from the Insurance Training College. To be remembered during this blessed month means a great deal to us. These hampers will go a long way in supporting families as they fast, and we pray that ITC continues to prosper. This is a beautiful example of how institutions and communities should walk together,” Sheikh Abdul Karim remarked.

The hampers, which included staple food items suitable for fasting families, were received with warmth by the community leaders and worshippers present. The initiative is part of ITC’s broader commitment to community engagement, strengthening the bond between the college and the residents along Old Kira Road.

As the holy month concluded, ITC’s gesture serves as a reminder of the power of collective care and the importance of standing together during significant moments of the year.
